The Woman Driving Passion & Success Behind One Man's Mission
Updated: May 20
If you've ever engaged with Melissa Megano, you'd automatically recognise her positive determination to get things done. Her 'can-do' attitude is something that she applies to all aspects of Real Estate Investment Finance (REIF).
By all means, Melissa's passion doesn't go unnoticed. The team at REIF couldn't be more proud of her finalist nomination in the Women in Finance Awards for Executive Assistant of The Year.
In July, Momentum Media announced that this powerhouse of a woman had been shortlisted as a finalist for the Women in Finance Awards in the Executive Assistant of the Year category.
These awards acknowledge over 250 high-achieving women across submission-based categories. They celebrate female role models within the financial industry. It aims to celebrate their achievements and contributions towards the finance industry.
The editor of mortgages at Momentum Media, Annie Kane, stated "...the whole concept of the Women in Finance Awards has been to champion and profile the amazing women working in financial services - an industry that has been, and remains, typically male-dominated."
Other than her collective team at REIF, Melissa's number one supporter is CEO and Founder of REIF, David Chehade. The one who's mission she's driving into full fruition.
When commenting on her influence to the organisation, David mentioned, "she is passionate about our industry and supporting everyone from clients, to stakeholders, to the team, to myself. She challenges us all to grow and to explore every opportunity possible."
An Influential Change Maker
Melissa was introduced to REIF three years ago as an Administrative Assistant. She started at a time when REIF had very basic foundations and operational tools. After identifying areas to improve functionality within the business, Melissa approached David about implementing improvements.
Melissa's suggested improvements drove the business forward in ways unimaginable for such a short period of time. The changes included the introduction of fully functional operation manuals, updated policies, procedures for all departments of the business as well as growing stakeholder relationships.
After a short period of six months, and proving her commitment to strengthen David's mission, David promoted her to Executive Assistant. Melissa's initiative and forward thinking grew REIF 400% in two years.
When commenting on what she believes is her greatest success with REIF, Melissa credits her ability to grow the business while growing individually. In a period of 12 months, REIF grew from a small team of 6 to a large team of 20. Though, herself and David are still determined to grow it even bigger and better!
Melissa's Greater Legacy
This strong and determined woman firmly believes that "kindness is key." When commenting on what Melissa brings to the community, David commented, "Melissa truly wants world peace...she is that person who contributes as much as she can to everyone to make an impact."
Not only does Melissa nurture and contribute kindness to all of her colleagues and clients, but she does the same for the community. Every month, she dedicates a day to making hundreds of her renowned Sicilian meatballs to deliver for those in need. These people may be having a hard time or are just in need of comfort. On the containers holding these meatballs, she will write inspirational notes.
Melissa, we wish you all the luck in taking home the winning position for Women In Finance's Executive Assistant of The Year Category. From your loving family here at REIF, you'll always be a winner in our eyes and heart!
